Reflection of Assamese Society through a Politician

This is not merely a biography, but a document of a period of Assamese social life. Yes, it will be one's first impression after reading the book EJON SATYAGRAHIR RAJNITI : GOPINATH BARDOLOIR ASAM, TETIA ARU ETIYA (Politics of a Satyagrahi: Gopinath Bardoloi's Assam, then and now) written by Dr. Nirode Kr. Barooah.

Barooah, in this book simply sets a model of research work for biographers and historians in Assamese literature. His research for this book is praiseworthy. In a splendid manner Barooah, in this book, has pointed out different features which were laying under cover till now.

I was associated with the the Amar Asom (an Assamese news daily) since 1997 to 2002, first as senior sub editor, then as the Deputy News Editor. During that period I had wrote different stories on books in front page. And I honestly believe that this book of Mr. Barooah should be covered in front page of Assamese news daily. If I would able to read this book at the time of its publication!
Anyway, I am writing a series of review in Asomiya Pratidin, the largest circulated Assamese daily. This is the first part of that series, which is published on 13th November, 2010.
